About Clarissa Lopez, LCSW
Hi, I’m Clarissa. I provide therapy for adolescents and young adults in the DFW area and virtually throughout Texas, supporting those navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and major life transitions. I’m passionate about helping young people during times that feel overwhelming, uncertain, or emotionally heavy.
My approach to therapy is supportive, hands-on, and collaborative. I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed care, along with strength-based and motivational techniques, to help clients develop practical coping skills while also having space to process their thoughts and emotions. Sessions may include worksheets or creative activities to make therapy feel natural, engaging, and less intimidating.
In addition to my outpatient work, I currently serve as an inpatient social worker in a children’s hospital, supporting patients and families navigating medical procedures, unexpected trauma, and crisis situations. This experience has strengthened my ability to provide calm, grounded support during high-stress moments and to help families feel less alone during difficult times.
I also bring personal understanding to my work as a former military spouse and as a parent of a child with autism. These experiences have deepened my appreciation for the emotional toll of caregiving, transitions, and systems that can feel overwhelming to navigate. They inform my compassionate, flexible approach to working with both clients and their families.
I strive to create a space that feels safe, calm, and welcoming—where teens and young adults don’t need to have the right words or have everything figured out. I meet each client with patience, respect, and understanding, and welcome them exactly as they are.
My goal is to help young people feel supported, confident, and equipped with tools they can use both now and in the future. I also value partnering with parents and caregivers to support their child in a balanced and healthy way.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation for clients and parents to ask questions, discuss goals, and determine whether working together feels like the right fit.
